I woke up with the Sun today and walked down to the lakeside to enjoy the view while the world was still asleep. Personally, I think the morning is the best time of the day. I love being around people, but I spend so much of my day being ‘on.’ It’s nice to take a few moments to stop thinking about everything there is on the to-do list and just enjoy the quiet and the scenery.
We spent most of the morning hiking Tubbs Hill, wandering around the myriad of interwoven trails that criss-cross their way across the landscape. Even with the temperature hovering at 25 lots of people were walking with their kids and pets. You can get all the way down to the beach and there are photo opportunities all over the place with the panoramic views of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
When we finally got too frozen to walk any further and too hungry to want to be outside we went to the nearby strip mall at the Chic Lakeside Resort. We grabbed ice cream, played in the toy store, and browsed the shops while our bodies returned to a normal temperature.
