Captivated by Coeur d'Alene

At nine o’clock this morning I left with outdoor recreation, an outdoor activities club through Pacific Lutheran University, for a ski trip over the long weekend in Idaho. The entire drive from Tacoma to Coeur d’Alene was just over five hours though we stopped for gas, bathroom breaks, and lunch at Sweeto Burrito before proceeding to our cabins at Lutherhaven.

Sweeto Burrito was kind of gross, the burritos had very strange things in most of them and while I got the most normal thing on the menu, the sweeto burrito, it still wasn’t good. It was something that you had to keep telling yourself to take a bite despite being hungry because it just didn’t impress in the least. This was my first impression of a burrito and it certainly wasn’t great.

We ate dinner at Lutherhaven, which had cozy, warm cabins and homely food. While you can stay there if you want to, there are nicer places to stay nearer to the ski resorts.

Coeur d’Alene was shockingly beautiful, making me wonder why no one ever talked about how beautiful Idaho could be. I had only ever associated Idaho with potatoes.
